Use of dosemeters in the field

The procedure to be followed when using a dosemeter to make measurements in the field can be outlined as should below:

  • Calibrate instrument and check battery level
  • Attach to worker and switch on, noting time
  • Allow to run for desired measurement period
  • At end of period note time and reading
  • Remove instrument from worker and re-check calibration.
